I don't know why it took me so long to come back to this blog. Following the 2008 Boston Marathon, I trained for the NYC Marathon and injured my hip. The series of doctor's appointments, diagnostic tests and periods of on-and-off running were enough that I should have used writing as an outlet, but perhaps it was just too difficult for me to put it all into words. Or maybe there just weren't many words necessary - basically "It sucked" sums it all up.
But, 7 months post-surgery (the smartest decision of my life, I will add) and I am happy, healthy and ready to write about it all! And I could not be more excited to make my return to my favorite race, the Boston Marathon, on April 18, 2011. I'll be running this year for the Run for the Memory team through the Alzheimer's Association of MA/NH - and looking forward to every minute it takes to get me there.
